Frequently Asked Questions
How long will it take me to find a job?
In all honesty, it will depend on many factors including:
- How much demand there is for your skills & experience
- When you are able to move to New Zealand
- If you are prepared to move to NZ before the rest of your family
- How actively you are pursuing your job search and through how many avenues
- If your documentation is in order and you are ready to migrate before approaching employers and so on.
Why are you different from other immigration or recruitment agencies?
We are different from other agencies because we have looked at all the issues faced by migrants and employers and by linking up with some key partners have come up with a system that removes the barriers. Other agencies will refer you to recruitment people or immigration consultants outside of their organisation and this can lead to a breakdown in communication. We provide a “one stop shop” service so have control over the whole process. Also:
- All employers on our site are willing to employ people from overseas who come through us.
- All of our job vacancies are current and updated regularly.
- We are there to help you and the employer through the whole process.
- We can get around the catch 22 scenario of "can't get a visa without a job/ Can't get job without a visa"
We have qualified and experienced recruitment and immigration specialists whose work bridges the gap between employers and skilled migrants. Most people are moving to New Zealand for a better lifestyle so we have also addressed the issue of settlement for you and your family to ensure that you adjust to your new life as quickly as possible and have a support network for you to tap into after you have arrived in New Zealand.
I completed the online points calculator on the NZ immigration service website does this mean I am eligible to migrate to New Zealand?
The INZ point’s calculator is just an indication and as it is reliant on self assessment in our experience many people claim points they are not actually entitled to. Our eligibility assessment form is far more detailed and will be viewed by our immigration specialists who understand how the system works. Many clients approach us saying they have enough points to migrate but after completing our assessment find the points they are entitled to are much lower.
If I am eligible and my profile is on your site does this guarantee I will get a job?
There are a lot more factors involved in securing a job than just being qualified and eligible to migrate. It will depend on where you are willing to live, how soon you are able to move to New Zealand, how in demand your skills are etc. However it is in our interest for you to secure a job offer and so we will do everything we can to help. If you decide to use our full service then you will be prepared by us for your move to New Zealand and this makes you more appealing to employers.
Do you actively search for a job for your clients?
Our business is reliant on our clients getting job offers and so we do actively look for available vacancies for you. We hold regular seminars for employers in New Zealand promoting our service and constantly monitor our database to match clients with vacancies.
If I find a job myself do I still have to pay your Visa/permit fees?
when you are using our service you are paying us to assist with your visa application and help you make the move to New Zealand. A lot of this work may have been carried out before a job is offered and will carry on after the job is offered. This means that our fee will still be payable if the job is secured by you.
How do I make myself more attractive to New Zealand employers? By using our service you are already more attractive to employers! As we liaise between you and the employer it takes the risk out of the whole process. We also don’t charge the employer a placement fee which can be a barrier as some employers pay an agency up to 18% of the candidates’ salary which can amount to thousands of dollars making that candidate less attractive. Employers access our service for free and we have excellent working relationships with them.
Most employers will want somebody to start work quite quickly. Therefore if you can come out to New Zealand for interviews or are prepared to move out and start work ahead of your family then this will make you a more attractive candidate to employers. We prepare you for the move to New Zealand and you even get a certificate telling employers that you are "Move Ready". We have exclusive contracts with agencies throughout New Zealand who are our gateway to employers all over the country and this means we can reach a very large number of employers.
Will you arrange interviews for me?
If an employer is interested in your profile then obviously the next step is for you and the employer to make contact. We will facilitate this and will arrange phone, video or face to face interviews. We can prepare you for the interview and assist in any way you require. We have arranged a complete itinerary with back to back interviews for full service clients who are prepared to make the journey to New Zealand to maximise their time out here.
Do I have to come to New Zealand for an interview?
The first step is usually a telephone interview which we will organise. If an employer is really interested then they may ask to meet with you for a face to face interview. Many employers will insist on this before they employ you and it is something you should consider. Remember they will be aware that you are traveling across the world for an interview which shows real commitment. When an employer is aware of our service and that we prepare our clients for moving to New Zealand they may even be prepared to over a job after a telephone interview.
How do you help us after we have arrived?
If you decide to use our New Arrivalz settlement service then you and your family will receive help and advice from people who are experts in settlement for the crucial first months after your arrival. Adjusting to your new life and making sure every member of the family is happy is crucial to your long term future in New Zealand. Our settlement service gives all of the information you and your family need about New Zealand and support when you arrive.
What is an Economic Development Agency?
There are 62 Economic Development Agencies throughout New Zealand. One aspect of what they do is to ensure the growth of their region and this includes helping employers to fulfill their staffing requirements. We work very closely with these agencies throughout New Zealand. Some have already signed exclusive contracts with us and more are to follow. They are our gateway to employers throughout New Zealand.
Why do you charge a 50% deposit on your full service?
We charge a deposit so that we can start working with you to fully prepare you for moving to New Zealand and to make you more appealing to potential employers in New Zealand. They have told us that they really want to know people they are hiring from overseas will be well prepared and that their visa applications will go through smoothly and quickly once a job has been offered. Once you have paid the deposit you will have access to our immigration specialists to prepare your application up til the point of getting a job offer. You will also receive a package of books and DVD's that will help prepare you for the move to New Zealand. We will get you ready to make the move so that when a job is offered the process of making your visa application and moving can happen as easily as possible. The more prepared you are the more succesful the move will be.
Paying a deposit first with the balance due before we lodge your application smoothes out the payments and makes the financial side of migrating that much easier.
