If you already have children, parents, a brother or sister in New Zealand you may want to visit them for an extended period, or even be able to come out and live here permanently.

There are various types of temporary visas which will allow extended stays, some of which must be applied for in your home country like Grandparent Visas, and others such as visitor's permit extensions that you can apply for in New Zealand.

If you want to stay long term you may be able to apply for Permanent Residence under the Family Category to join your children, parents or sibling(s) who live in New Zealand. You may also be able to apply for Permanent Residence if you have a New Zealand spouse or partner, whether or not they are in New Zealand.
