| Details | Our Auckland based client is an international biotechnology company at the leading edge of medicine development. With a strong investment support behind them and some products getting close to approval for manufacture, this is an opportunity to join an organisation going places. As part of their continued (but controlled) growth our client is looking to employ a Scientific Officer to work on their scale up program from trial to commercial manufacture size. Reporting to the Operation Manager, you the incumbent will have a strong operational background in technology transfer with the pharmaceutical/ biotechnology industry, preferably in Cell Culture and/or fermentation. You will have solid working knowledge of sterile manufacturing processes and facilities and be familiar with European and US pharmacopoeias. This is a hands-on role which will require both leadership and to be an effective part of a team and so your communication and interpersonal skills will need to be well developed. The successful candidate will ideally possess the following attributes: • Tertiary qualification in Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Biotechnology (B.Tech) • At least 5 years practical experience working in an cGMP accredited facility • Proven process scale up and technology transfer experience • Detailed knowledge of the practices and principles of GMP/GLP compliance as applied to the manufacturing of Biopharmaceutical products • Understanding of statistical process control • Computer literate • Good system based thought process • Attention to detail The successful candidate will be joining a successful company but more importantly they will become part of a close-knit team. |
