Dunedin foreword by Paul Goddard

When I first heard about Dunedin it conjured up images of a Scottish city such as Edinburgh. I then heard about it's university (Otago) and the vibrant music scene that the city has and was immediately intrigued. My Kiwi friends who had visited Dunedin (or Dunners as they tended to call it) all spoke fondly of the friendliness of the people there and I knew I had to visit. The first thing that surprised me and impressed was the size of Dunedin and the amount of things there are to see and do. It really doesn't take long to experience the famous Southern Hospitality and the great thing about Dunedin is that it has all the benefits of a major city but still feels very relaxed and laid back. The weather was fantastic and I have very fond memories that will keep me going until I return in the very near future.
