Investment visa applications
Applications under the Active Investment policy are dealt with by a special Business branch of Immigration New Zealand and are divided into three categories:
- Global Investor Category – for migrants investing NZ$20 million in New Zealand, including at least NZ$5 million in active investment.
- Professional Investor Category – for migrants investing NZ$10 million in New Zealand, including at least NZ$2 million in active investment.
- General (Active) Investor Category – for migrants investing a minimum of NZ$2.5 million in New Zealand, who have an additional NZ$1 million for settlement funds.
What do you need to do?
Each category has specific requirements for proof of previous business experience, type of investment and the amount of time you are required to live in New Zealand each year to satisfy your visa requirements.
There are also differing age limits, settlement funds and proof of English language requirements for each category, and you will need to meet health and character requirements for any application.
